Dear Karate-ka and Parents,

Trust you are all well and enjoying the cooler weather. It is a great excuse to train harder to bring on the sweat.

With Monday, 1st May, being another public holiday, there will be no regular classes on the Monday. However, we will be having an open class on Monday morning from 8am to 9am at the dojo. All students are welcome to attend this class.

Saturday classes will remain as normal and we hope to see many students attending.

Good luck to our students who will be attending the club friendly championships this weekend and the next. I am sure that they will all do exceptionally well again.

Remember that the month of May is Mother’s month. We would like to invite all mothers and their friends to join us for a FREE months training. Looking forward to seeing many of you on the mat.

Boris sensei (Judo instructor), our new member to the Sunshine Coast Martial Arts team, has starting his Judo classes. For more information on
this please see front desk.

Have a wonderful long weekend.

Kind Regards,
Bryan sensei and team

Dear Parents & Karateka,

What an incredible first term!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, parents & karateka for your support over the past few weeks. Change is always difficult for some, but we sincerely hope that you have enjoyed your classes and learning this term.

It has of course been a time of change for us as well, especially Bryan Sensei who has left his family in South Africa to run the dojo here. Anita, his wife stayed behind to wrap up their personal affairs and complete her employment contract and studies. It is important to mention at this point that Bryan Sensei will be returning to South Africa on the 14th April for approximately 4 weeks until such time that return family VISA is granted. Tammy Sensei will also be travelling to South Africa on business and will return 27 April to assist Rick Sensei with the classes. We thank you in advance for your understanding and continued support during this time.

Some of the amazing achievements this term include:

– Fantastic results at all the tournaments including the Queensland Summer Karate Champs, the Sunshine Coast Karate Challenge, The Pomona JKA Champs and a few more. This certainly stands us in good stead for the Aussie Opens next weekend
– A newspaper article in almost every Noosa News for the past few weeks!
– Some upgrades and general clean-up of the dojo – more to come!!!
– A brilliant first grading for the Big Legends and Kyu grades.
– A successful Masters Programme opening day
– & a massively successful break-a-board evening!
– Not to mention the Kung Fu Panda Demo, which was great fun.

We are extremely excited about Term 2 where we look forward to keeping the momentum going and even picking up the pace!

Some of the up and coming dates/events and classes to diarise:

6 April: official first Masters Class 9-10am

7 April: Little Legends Grading

8 April: Aussie Open Seminar 5-7pm

14 April: NO CLASSES AT ALL due to all instructors being involved in the Aussie Open in Sydney

15/16 April: Aussie Open

1 May: Kansai Karate Champs

5 May: Little Legends Grading

21/2May: Queensland Karate State Championships

2 June: Little Legends Grading

18 June: Provisional Grading Date Big Legends, Kyu Grades and Adults

Once again, thanks to the incredible instructors, Rick, Lisa, Laney, Lozzie Sensei and the many learning assistant instructors and all others working behind the scenes to make this the best dojo in Australia. What a team we have!!

Kind Regards,

Bryan & Tammy Sensei

Dear Karate-ka and Parents,

Firstly we would like to thank and congratulate all the students that took part in the Sunshine Coast Challenge on Sunday the 20th March. Also a huge thank you to all the volunteers on the day from the judges, table officials, barbeque master and shop helpers. Without your help it would not be possible to host a tournament.

To all our karate family, have a blessed Easter weekend. Please remember that the dojo will be closed on from the 25th to the 28th. (Good Friday to Easter Monday) Open again on Tuesday the 29th. Classes will resume as normal during the school holidays.

If you are travelling over the weekend, travel safely.

Kind Regards,
Bryan, Tammy and Rick sensei
